Savoy from the Sierra Collection provides a natural tone that is warm but not yellow, whilst the sawn face surface of the boards reflects white oils and provides an understated tactile quality that is juxtaposed with smooth Oak joinery.

Bonneval from the Old World Collection was used to create a bespoke and impressive front door.

The owners of this penthouse apartment in Cape Town’s V&A Marina chose Hakwood’s Premier 1-Bis grade of French White Oak for their internal hardwood floors and wall cladding.

After a heavy wire-brushing of the open grain, skilled artisans at Hakwood use traditional tools to effect a genuinely hand-hewn texture, resulting in a tactile quality to the floorboards from this distinctive collection.

Complex colour treatments, including a fuming of the underlying French White Oak, and multiple oils reflect subtle light points across the multi-faceted surfaces.

Exposed brickwork, clad and painted surfaces and hardwood decking complete the palette of hard finishes, whilst classic copper and contemporary black matt fittings feature throughout.

The interior designers selected Bonneval, from the Old World Collection by Hakwood to complement existing structural beams and to help achieve a laid-back atmosphere in this bungalow that boasts a spectacular location.

The complex colour and textural treatments of French White Oak floors add a laid-back charm to a sophisticated palette that includes brushed aluminium, stainless steel, and glass.

Spectacular views of the Atlantic ocean are visible via large windows, whilst the cladding and painting of walls and ceilings echos the intimacy of a bungalow interior.

Jarrah hardwood was used as decking and structural timber across multiple exterior applications and has since weathered to a silver-grey colour.

The architects selected Forza, from the Sierra Collection by Hakwood for use on the internal floors and the bespoke staircase of this sea-side villa, which is situated on a steeply sloping erf in Clifton, Cape Town.
